Presenter (Touring Role)

Snowline Media produces the largest and most successful adventure/outdoors film tours across the UK and Ireland. Our film tours visit some of the country’s most prestigious theatres, and the shows offer a unique atmosphere where like-minded audience members feel part of something extraordinary, and leave feeling inspired to push boundaries.

We’re currently looking for an outgoing and talented individual who would like to join our touring team and perform a crucial role in in the delivery of our live screening events across the UK. The successful candidate will be professional, able to work effectively under pressure, a friendly team player, enjoy being 'on-the-road,' possess a can-do attitude and ideally be passionate about the outdoors and adventure.
 

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Hosting/presenting the screening events on stage to large audiences across the UK is the key responsibility of this role. This is a touring role and the successful candidate will work in theatres across the UK and perform a number of additional duties to ensure the overall successful delivery of each event.

 

The successful candidate will tour with a second team member responsible for managing the technical aspects of the events. The touring team return to company headquarters (near Banbury) each week – and typically each touring week would involve between 3 to 5 screenings.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Travelling from our company headquarters, you will be required to present and host film festival screenings at locations across the UK. The primary duties would include:

  • Presenting the films on stage to the audience - this will require introduction of films, recognition of event sponsors, conducting the on-stage prize draw and additional messaging as required.

  • Provide point of contact to front of house venue staff throughout the event to ensure successful delivery of screening events.

  • Manage sales of merchandise at venues during the event.

  • Set up the front of house space at the theatre, managing the ‘look and feel’ of the foyer including the prize draw table and oversee sponsor activation.

  • Coordinate volunteers at the venue.

  • Liaise with local partners at the screening and facilitate any foyer activation.

  • Assist tour technician and venue technicians with loading in/out duties and technical set up of venue (building and breaking down the screen).

Additional Duties

  • Assist touring colleague with loading in/out of equipment needed at the start and end of the touring week at the company headquarters. Please be aware that some moderately heavy lifting will be involved.

  • Assist touring colleague with driving to and from shows. A full driving licence and willingness to share driving of a Transit-sized van (manual transmission) with other staff member is essential.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Charismatic personality and ability to deliver engaging presentations to audiences. Experience in presenting, public speaking, acting, group instructing or similar would be a strong advantage.

  • We visit a wide range of venues across the UK so the successful candidate will be able to adapt quickly to the set-up requirements of each venue and be capable of calmly trouble-shooting issues.

  • The candidate must have a flexible team working approach to the role and be willing to work with the technical touring team member to ensure the overall smooth running of each event.

  • Due to the equipment needed at each event, the successful candidate must be able and prepared to undertake the physical duties needed to assist the touring technician in loading and setting up the equipment needed for each event (a technician will manage the technical elements at the screening).

  • The candidate must possess a full UK driver’s licence and be willing and able to drive a manual Transit-sized van to shows.

Desirable Skills

  • A passion for the outdoors and adventure sports is strongly preferred.

  • An interest in adventure films would be beneficial.

TRAVEL

Travel to touring venues across the UK will be conducted in a company supplied van and the successful candidate will be required to be away for multiple nights at a time (returning to company headquarters at the end of each week).

 

Accommodation and food expenses while 'on-the-road' are paid for by the company.

The successful candidate would ideally live in Oxfordshire/ Northamptonshire/ Buckinghamshire area as this is where the company is located (near Banbury) and is the starting point for each touring week. As the team occasionally return to company headquarters after a show late in the evening, it would be preferable for the candidate to have their own vehicle.
